How to make a flower shelf

Almost every housewife has home plants in her arsenal to decorate the interior. It happens that they are located everywhere - on window sills, cabinets and other furniture. Such a workload threatens to spoil not only the overall aesthetic picture in the home, but also the furniture surfaces. After all, when watering, droplets of water will definitely fall on them. Shelves for flowers, which are also easy to do with your own hands, can fully solve this problem.

When creating flower stands, turn on all your imagination, because this decorative element is designed not only to decorate your apartment, but also to become a designer highlight of the entire home. Such a design can be of the most diverse shapes and sizes, in addition, the coasters are made of different materials. There are wooden, elegant glass or even aristocratic forged shelves for flowers.

All flower fixtures can be conditionally divided into three types:

1. Ladder shelf. It is usually attached to window slopes or walls.
2. Suspended structures. This type is often made in the form of baskets or planks, which are hung at different heights with cords.
3. Shelf-shelf. This flower arrangement often has many tiers and is located on the floor.

Today's ideas about flower stands are such that products must meet the following requirements: functionality, beauty and simplicity. A bookcase has an undeniable advantage over all designs. Such a multi-tiered device takes up little space, but it can accommodate a large number of flower pots. In addition, "green pets" will always be at hand, grow in equal conditions (one temperature and lighting conditions). Therefore, we will dwell on this flower shelf in more detail.

The considered design structure consists of a floor base, to which four legs and racks of chrome-plated tubes are attached. It is on the racks that different height shelves of various shapes will be placed.

To make a bookcase you will need:

• 1 sheet of plywood (thickness 15 mm);
• chrome pipes (Joker systems);
• rack flanges;
• 4 furniture legs;
• bushings, screws and bolts;
• car enamel in cans or other wood paint;
• wood putty.

Also, prepare:

• pipe cutter or hacksaw;
• jigsaw;
• drill;
• screwdriver;
• screwdrivers.

At the first stage of creating the stand, mark the contours of its bottom and side parts on the plywood. You can use the finished drawing, which is presented below, or plan it yourself.

Next, perform the main work on creating shelves in the following sequence:

1. Cut out the marked parts with a jigsaw.
2. Sand saw cuts and edges.
3. On the bottom platform, mark and drill the holes for the furniture bolts.
4. On the remaining blanks, mark the places for mounting the flanges and installing the racks.
5. Drill holes with a diameter of 25 mm for the tubes.
6. Level the surface of the shelves with putty, and after complete drying, sand them.
7. Paint the wooden parts in your chosen color or varnish, and, if desired, complete them with decorative edging.

The next step will be work with chrome tubes. Cut 5 racks:

• 3 blanks 1200 mm long each;
• 1 tube - 900 mm;
• 1 tube - 600 mm;

Make cuts with a pipe cutter or a hacksaw for iron.

At the last stage, assemble the structure:

• Attach all posts to the bottom base.
• Screw the bolts into the bushings.
• Put the flanges on the tubes and screw them to the platform with self-tapping screws.
• Fasten all tiers in the same way.
• The gap between the shelves is about 30 cm.
• Screw the furniture legs to the bottom piece with screws.

You can make the same design on wheels. In this case, the shelf moves freely from place to place.
